Rajasthan & Varanasi with Nepal

Day 1 – New Delhi

Welcome to India!!

You will be received by one of the representatives of “The Rajasthan Holiday” or your driver at the international airport and you will be assisted to your hotel. In the Hotel, the representative/ driver will provide your documents regarding the tour.

Delhi is among the oldest cities across the world. Also known as Dilli, it is the capital of India and was the hub of several empires in ancient times. Delhi showcases the living of emperors by the monuments and architecture they left behind. Delhi was a major city in the old trade routes from northwest India to the Gangetic Plains.

Day 2 – Mandawa (Shekhawati Region Silk Route)

For Shekhawati area proceed to a city called Nawalgarh / Dundlod / Mandawa. This city and the area surrounding the Shekhawati area are famous for its beautiful painted mansion (haveli), which were constructed by rich traders of this region in the 18th and 19th centuries.

Day 3 – Bikaner

After breakfast drive to Bikaner. In the afternoon you will be taken on a half day city tour of the Junagarh Fort, excursion to world famous rat’s temple at Deshnok town.

Day 4 – Jaisalmer (The Golden City)

Drive for Jaisalmer, driving through the Rajasthan Thar Desert, you reach Jaisalmer, which is one of the jewel crowns of India. The best wood and sandstone buildings make the city sit and there are houses, hotels, and shops hidden in the ancient lanterns within the Jaisalmer Fort.

Day 5 – Jaisalmer (The Golden City)

Visiting the JAISALMER FORT which is the oldest living Fort in the world. You will also visit some astonishing Havelis (Mansions). In the afternoon, proceed to the SAM or KHURI SAND DUNES for brief Camel safari & a typical Rajasthani Desert Village. Take a view of the mesmerizing sunset from the dunes, as the sky is set on fire. Return to the village for dinner between Rajasthani musicians playing haunting tunes.

Stay overnight at the SWISS TENT CAMP/ HOTEL.

You can either have a camel safari and stay at night in the desert else you can come back to Jaisalmer and sleep in the hotel as it is all up to you and Times Travel team will follow your choice.

Day 6 – Jodhpur (The Sun City)

In Morning, drive to Jodhpur. Afternoon sightseeing tour of Jodhpur. Visit the Mehrangarh Fort, rising a hilly scarp, built on the advice of a hermit, overlooking the city of blue houses in the image of a lone sentinel.

Day 7 – Ranakpur (The world famous Jain Temples)

After breakfast drive to Ranakpur. The eternal Jain pilgrimage centre of Ranakpur. Admire the workmanship from the 16th century temples & Kumbhalgarh fort - the stronghold of the kingdom of Mewar built by Maharana Kumbha in 1453. Visit the palace and see the beautiful mural paintings in the Zenana Mahal (ladies quarters). The view from the parapet wall is breathtaking and this is where the soldiers used to be stationed to view the advent of the enemies. The fort has 7 gates through which we need to enter to gain access to the palaces. See the temple where Maharana Kumbha was treacherously killed by his kith and kin during his prayer to win the seat of Mewar.

Day 8 – Udaipur (The City of Lakes)

En-route visit Kumbhalgarh fort - the stronghold of the kingdom of Mewar built by Maharana Kumbha in 1453. Visit the palace and see the beautiful mural paintings in the Zenana Mahal (ladies quarters). The view from the parapet wall is breathtaking and this is where the soldiers used to be stationed to view the advent of the enemies. The fort has 7 gates through which we need to enter to gain access to the palaces. See the temple where Maharana Kumbha was treacherously killed by his kith and kin during his prayer to win the seat of Mewar.

Day 9 – Udaipur (The City of Lakes)

Visit the City Palace the richest palace museum in the entire Rajasthan. Later, see Sahelion ki Bari where Maharana Sangram Singh built this garden complex with fountains and lakes for his beautiful daughter. In the evening we take a lake cruise on the placid waters of Lake Pichola by sunset and visit the island palace Jagmandir where according to legends the Mughal Emperor Shah Jehan lived and got inspired to build the Taj Mahal.

Day 10 – Pushkar (The only Brahma Temple in the world)

After breakfast drive to Pushkar, which happens to be the holiest places according to the Hindus as it is considered that Lord Brahma (the Creator) and his wife Saraswati (the goddess of learning and music) performed a ritual in the lake. Here we visit the only Brahma temple in the world before intermingling with the local colors in the local bazaar. Pushkar is also world-famous for its cattle fair, which is held each year in the month of October/November.

Day 11 – Jaipur (The Pink City)

After breakfast, the journey to Jaipur begins. Reach by lunchtime, have the delicious Rajasthani food and check into the hotel. The afternoon will be in the Pink City where you will visit the observatory Jantar Mantar which was built in 1727 by Sawai Maharaja Jai Singh II. He was a mathematician, an astronomer, an astrologer and a great musician of his era. During his time, he built five observatories across India – Jaipur, Varanasi, Delhi, Mathura, and Ujjain but from all the five only the one at Jaipur is functional. Then we will visit the City Palace which contains a fabulous collection of robes and sarees in cotton and silk which comes with gold latticework.

Day 12 – Jaipur (The Pink City)

A full-day program is organized for Amber Fort and nearby places. You will be taken up to the eye-grabbing fortress by elephant ride.

Day 13 – Agra (Taj Mahal closed on Friday)

The next morning will lead you to Agra and in between comes the deserted city of Fatehpur Sikri of Emperor Akbar which is the preserved Mughal Capital for over 400 years. In the 16th and 17th centuries, the quintessential Mughal city was the capital of their empire. There is the magnificent Agra Fort to visit.

Day 14 – Agra to Varanasi (by night train from Agra or by flight from Delhi to Varanasi)

Varanasi, formerly known as Banaras, is among the most important religious cities in India. When you walk the crowded streets of the old city near the Ganges River, you will see holy cows, holy men, and holy temples all over the place.

Day 15 – Varanasi (City of Ganges)

At the time of sunrise in the morning, we take you to the bank of river Ganges, where we board the boat to see the morning light of the Hindus with the safety of our boat. The boat ride starts from Dasashwamedh Ghat and ends at Manikarnika Ghat along the sacred Ganges. You can visit Assi Ghat, Dasaswamedh Ghat, Harish Chandra Ghat, Manikarnika Ghat, and Tulsi Ghat. See the Kashi Vishwanath temple and the Gyanvyapi Kund and the mosque attached to it. Also, visit the Banaras Hindu University – the largest residential university in India with more than 3000 residential students.

Return to your hotel for mouth-watering breakfast.

Later visit Sarnath – the sacred city for Buddhists across the world. It was here that Lord Buddha preached his first sermon to his first five disciples. Also worth visiting is the museum with artifacts dating back to the 3rd century BC. Visit the nearby ruins of the ancient seat of learning in Sarnath.

Day 16 to 18 – Varanasi to Kathmandu (Nepal, The Land of Himalaya) by Flight

In these three days, you can visit the following places in Kathmandu and nearby:

  • Kathmandu Durbar Square: One of three durbar (royal palace) squares in the Kathmandu Valley.
  • Patan (Lalitpur): The city of beauty is separated from Kathmandu only by the Bagmati River and is the second-largest town in the valley.
  • Pashupatinath Temple: The most important Hindu temple in Nepal, dedicated to Lord Shiva, drawing devotees from all over India each year.
  • Bhaktapur City: Bhaktapur Durbar Square is a cluster of pagoda and shikhara style temples, including the 55-window palace.
  • Nagarkot: Located 32 km east of Kathmandu, it offers spectacular sunrise views of the Himalayas, including Mount Everest.
  • Dhulikhel: A scenic and ancient town 30 km east of Kathmandu. From here you can visit Namobuddha with its stupa and monastery.
  • Panauti: A nearby village noted for its temples with magnificent woodcarvings.

Note: All the above places are optional and can be visited as per your preference.

Day 19 – Kathmandu to New Delhi (By Flight)

In the morning, take a leisurely breakfast. Later, take a flight to Delhi. Upon arrival in Delhi, you will be received by one of the team members of “Incredible Real India Tours.” You can visit a Sikh temple or walk around Connaught Place and enjoy dinner at one of the restaurants in this central part of the city.

Day 20 – Pokhara

After Breakfast Drive to Pokhara (200 Km, 6,7 hrs drive by car). One gets to see nice scenery along the drive. Lunch will be served on the way to Pokhara or at a local restaurant in Pokhara. Finally, arrive at the most beautiful city in the Mountains and lakes. Pokhara is most beautiful natural valley of Nepal, which is also the most popular tourist destination. The Annapurna, Machhapuchere (Fishtail) and uncountable Mountains always stand high welcoming every visitor with a smile.

PM: visit the Tibetan Camp, Devi’s fall, Lakeside Market.

Day 21 – Pokhara

Early morning wake up call for a visit to Sarangkot (1592m) (drive 30 minutes). One gets to see the sunrise & magnificent views of the Himalayan like Mt Dhaulagiri (8167m), Annapurna IV(7525m), Annapurna (7555m), Machhapuchhre (6993m). Get back to Hotel for a delicious breakfast. After breakfast, one-hour boating at Phewa Lake overlooking the region of Annapurna Areas.

Explore various places at Pokhara Valley.

Day 22 – Nagarkot

After breakfast drive to Nagarkot via Kathmandu. The Nagarkot that lies 35 km east of Kathmandu city located at an elevation of 7200 ft., through Changu Narayana, The most ancient temple in Kathmandu valley is dedicated to the Hindu God Vishnu. It is one of the finest and oldest specimens of pagoda architecture. This world heritage site is located 4 km north of Bhaktapur. Miles Nagarkot offers 200 panoramas of the Himalayas of Mt. Everest in the east to Dhaulagiri in the west, Arrive Nagarkot, Hotel Check-in. Watch the Sunset and Himalayan views.

Day 23 – Kathmandu

Early morning wake up for sunrise & Himalayan views in Nagarkot. After Breakfast, move towards the Kathmandu. On the way back to Kathmandu, we will visit Bhaktapur which is also known as the city of Devotees, center of medieval art, and architecture founded by King Anand Dev in 889 AD. Visit Nyatapola temple, the most beautiful temple of Nepal- the 15th century palace of 55 windows, Golden gate and other places of interest.

After dinner visits the Casinos at night for entertainment.

Day 24 – Kathmandu

After breakfast drive for Kathmandu sightseeing visit, Patan is often referred to as Lalitpur, which means “city of beauty”. Patan has a long Buddhist history and the four corners of the city are marked by Stupas erected by the great Buddhist emperor Ashoka around 250 BC.

Visit Patan City's second-largest city of the valley including Royal Palace, Bhimsen temple, Manga Hiti, King Yogendra Malla’s Statue, Krishna temple, Taleju temple 15th century Golden Temple and Mahaboudha Temple known as the temple of 10,000 Buddha, Kumbeshwar Temple. Bishwakarma Temple, Uma Maheshwar Temple. After dinner visits the Casinos at night for entertainment.

Day 25 – New Delhi

A full day will be given to exploring Delhi. Starting with Old Delhi – visiting the Red Fort and Jama Masjid, then moving towards New Delhi – exploring India Gate, Parliament House, the Secretariat Building, and the Presidential House.

Day 26 – New Delhi

Drive to Delhi. Later, you will be transferred to the International airport 3 hours before your flight time for your journey back to your country.
